All recordings are available in the following formats:
All prices include free shipping.
- Cassette Tape. Cassette tapes are $10.00 per tape. Assume 8 tips fit on each cassette. Calculate the number of cassettes as tips/8 rounded up to the next whole number.
- MP3 files on CD. MP3 files are $0.50 per tip. MP3 files are intended for playing on a computer using Winamp or another media player. This has become popular in recent years.
Please do NOT make and distribute copies of this material. Copyright issues aside, proceeds go to help support the callers of the Chicago 3 convention, and reward them for their hard work in preparing this fine material. This material is being made available to the square dance community at a very reasonable price. Please purchase legitimate copies for your tape groups!
Q) Can I really order any tips I want? Can I select the sessions, callers, etc.?
A) Yes! Since all master recordings were done digitally on computer, I can easily select the tips to copy. Cassette tapes are recorded directly off the computer. Copying MP3 files is even easier.Q) When I order selected tips online, I see a very strange item number in the shopping cart. What is it?
A) The item number for selected tips tells me exactly which tips were selected. Don't worry about it, I know what to do with it.Q) Why are the MP3 files so much cheaper than the cassette tapes?
A) Because the media (blank CD's) is so incredibly cheap (the postage costs more than the CD). Burning MP3 files onto a CD is also MUCH faster than recording cassette tapes.Q) How many MP3 files will fit on one CD.
A) About 300, more or less (compared to 8 tips on a cassette). The entire Chicago 3 convention (all levels) fits easily on 1 CD with room to spare.Q) Why aren't there as many C1 and C3 tips as the other levels?
A) Because there were only 3 full time halls, dancing A2, C2, and C3a. There were some C1 and C3 star tips in the afternoons, and two bonus C1 and C3 sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings.Q) What about minidisc (MD) media? Why isn't it available?
A) If there is enough demand, I will purchase an MD recorder and make MD's available. I just don't have one right now.
